"The Oakleaf Gardens is
80 by 46 with 8 foot, 45 degree corners right in
middle of central Maine's
dairy farm country. The rink is lined with a 5 mil 50' x 100' silage
pit cover and trimed to size after the initial fill from the farm pond
200 feet away.
The rink begins with 2 x
4's held upright with 24 inch long, 1/2 inch diameter pipe driven 18" in
the ground and pipe straps screwed to the two by fours. Add liner,
pick weather window and flood. Set in white 2 x 8's and secure to
driven pipes with a spacer block, wood screws and more pipe straps and
watch your boards freeze in good and tight. Double your ice time
with flood lights. 2nd year with this method and it works like a
champ. Number your boards before take down...lots easier come next
years re-constuction!"
Would you like to make a center ice logo for your rink?
Check out Alan and Katie Ladd's tip (#51) to find out how.
Great job and thanks for
