The Alexanders write:
"We started building our
rink in late November 2002. And we were skating in early December.
The rink is 24 X 32 and
consists of an industrial banner used as a liner. Boards include
4 x 4 x 8 3/4 inch plywood supported by 4x4x4 wood posts driven into the
ground with steel spikes.
We've incoprated many of
the elements suggested in your web site including yellow kick boards for
that NHL look and high powered lighting for night time skating (keene 175
industrial watt). A red centre line was painted earlier in the season
and Canadian Flags are present for that hockey arena effect. We even
tried pouring some milk on the ice to make it whiter (but without success).
The ice is up to 3 feet
deep on one end due to our sloping lot. An ice resurfacer keeps the
ice in pristine condition."
Great job and thanks for
the pic guys. |
