"Here are pictures of my first rink, built with the advice from your website. It's a great success.
I built the 20' x 40' frame one weekend (Nov 25), added the tarp (1 piece white tarp) and flooded
it the second weekend (Dec 1) until I had at least 2 inches everywhere (8 inches at the deepest parts).
Unfortunately, right after the major flooding, we had a week of snowfall, much of which stuck to the ice.
So I didn't get a nice smooth surface at first. But the third weekend (Dec 8) I did multiple light floodings
with hot water using a re-surfacer, which worked really well. The ice is nearly perfect and we've been skating
on it since Dec 10. My 6 year old son loves it. Thanks for the help.
My tip for everyone, don't do a deep flooding unless you are fairly confident that it's not going to snow for at least a couple of days."
Great job Brent. Thanks for the picture.
