"Our rink is 72' x 24' with
16" high boards along the sides and 4' high boards at the ends.
The rink is a modular system
designed to set up and breakdown within just a couple of hours. It
consists of 8' panels which are stud framed at 2' on center, covered with
1/2" CDX sheeting. Each panel bolts to the next with 2 x 3/8"-inch bolts.
The curved boards are on a 4-foot radius. The top and bottom chords
of the framing are 3 layers of 1/2" plywood cut out of a home made template.
I added u-posts every 8' or so at the last
minute for additional stability.
I use a 100'x28' sheet of 6 mil. poly.
Our first skate was on Dec.
28, 2002. Ever since then we've been having a blast. Although
we don't have any kids yet, we do have one skater on the way (June).
Our nieces and cousins have enjoyed it this year as much as we have."
Great job Chris ... this
is a very nice rink. Thanks for the pic . |
