"Well, this was our first attempt creating an ice rink.
Our rink was 28 feet wide by 48 feet long. We ran into a few problems. The first was
that my yard was a lot more unlevel than it looked. We have 7 inches of
water on one side and 1 inch on the other side. This summer I will level
out the yard for next year's rink. My biggest problem was my 35 year
old well was on it's last legs when I built the rink during christmas
break. I had to use my neighbors hose to fill the rink. He is a great
neighbor!!! I wasn't able to do any resurfacing this year.
Two weeks ago I got a new 200ft deep 5 inch well with a water
hydrant!!! I should be set next year. My family still had a great time
skating this winter. I can't wait until next fall to start again. I should be able to keep it resurfaced
with the new well!!"
Looks good Dallas. Thanks for the pics. |
