John writes: "This is my 6th year building rinks in my back yard. This rink measures 32' x 80'. The usual season of use here in Melfort Sask. is from about Dec. 5 to about March 19. This year I finished the rink on November 30th." "I flood directly onto the grass until the rink is level. After that I use a 4' wide homemade (resurfacer) style flooder (mounted on an old lawn mower) to finished the job and to resurface the rink as needed. This flooder is connected to a hot water supply that creates an excellent hard surface that even my son and his fellow Pee Wee hockey teammates can play for a couple hours before resurfacing is required."
