"My name is Matthew Fletcher, I live in a small hockey town in Clinton,
New York. Our town is famous for the Clinton Comets. You may have seen
some images of the town arena in the Paul Newman movie Slap Shot.
Anyway this is my rink in our backyard. It is 18ft wide X 45 Ft Long. It is 7
inches thick in the deepest end and 3 inches thick in the shallowest end.
This picture was taken January 26th. It was about -11 degrees F, and with
the wind -20 degrees F.
I have four face off dots which are made of
construction paper and there is a maple leaf in the center made from it
as well. The red line and face off circle are hand painted . I used
Pressure treated 1x6x8 for my boards, and 6mil poly 20ft W x 50ft L.
I researched a lot of sites before tackling this task. This is my first
backyard rink. Thanks for all of the great tips on this web site.
Many hours of great skating."
Very nice job Matthew. Your research paid off. Thanks for the pic. |
