This years rink will be late getting started, just like last years. But it won't be due to poor temps (although they aren't helping) but more to do with that cursed blue tarp. It leaks...slowly...but it leaks nevertheless. It does hold water but it slowly releases water, and I have come to the conclusion that is what contributed to my poor ice last year. The morning after my initial flood (it was a cold night at -10 Celcius) I looked out to see shell ice every where. It was plain to see what had happen. The water was slowly draining off before it could entirely freeze...leaving shell ice everywhere. For more details on this years rink, visit my 2005 Rink Journal. Here are some pictures of
