"I first put up a half-hearted rink about four years ago using only things
I already had at my house.  The results were unimpressive but very
educational.  Since then I have expanded to a rink of 15' x 33' last year (2002-2003). 

Having twin 5 year old boys who learned the names "Sakic" and "Bourque" before many of their relatives names, seemed like a good
enough reason to perpetuate the effort this year. 

Limitations of level ground and erratic Chicago weather compel me to keep the rink to a manageable (15' x 39') and not too deep proportions. 

But, without things like our rink, the winter would seem so much longer."
