Hornepayne, ON  Canada

January 2006
Rink
125' x 42'

Ed writes:

"Howard,

Cheers from Northern Ontario. I have had my rink ready since Dec 14/05, about a week later than last year. The conditions this year have been absolutely perfect. Temps ranginging from -10 to -20 most days and just enough snow.

This is my 7th. backyard rink in as many years. I build it the same way every year, by pumping water out of the river directly onto a cleared out area 125' X 42'. It is built right on the ground surface with no liner required.

9 pumping sessions over a 7 day period, approx. 35 minutes per session due to a good volume of water from the pump. It has been flooded with a garden hose/soaked blanket at least 7 times since, and the ice is very level now.

We had our annual New Years party with a count of 60 people complete with fire works and 18 ten minute games of hockey until the final Stanley Cup game at 01:30 a.m.

Thanks for a great site and keep up the good work."

Once again Ed, fabulous rink. Thanks for the pic.
