"This is my first rink I've made in the backyard of our Portage la Prairie, MB home and skating with my family on Christmas Day was a highlight of the holiday for me. The rink is quite small at 16 x 24 but a good starter rink for my kids (8, 5, and 1). The hardest thing for me was getting cold days to get it done, because as soon as I started the rink we had unseasonably warm weather. I found your web site after I started this rink and will likely use a tarp liner next year when I expand the size of it. My oldest son Carter keeps asking if we can go out skating, and I tell him that we can skate anytime we want now. Sure beats trying to arrange trips to the local indoor rink for the rare public skates." Great job and thanks for the pic Fred. |
