Fred writes: "Thanks again for maintaining you website - it's a fantastic resource for rink making. This is my second year I've made a backyard rink and it's over twice as large as last year's at 20' x 40'. I also strung up a couple of 500 watt halogen lights to the house this year and they've worked great. With the larger rink size and lights, the kids have been out on the rink much more than last year. I'm thinking the ice might hurt the grass but I don't really care - I'd rather the kids have memories of their backyard rink instead of a well maintained lawn. One thing I need to do next year is to put up some boards - more for my inaccurate shots than the kids. I would also like to make the rink even bigger but I'm running out of room to grow!"
