"I've sent along some pics for you to see. I really enjoyed seeing the other rinks. There sure are a lot of
great ideas out there.
We live in North River Nova Scotia, it's just outside of Truro. This is our first year with a "rink". The last
five we were using our pond in our field and it was 25' x120'. But with our weather is was unpredictable ... from
+10c to -30c. So this year we decided to build a rink with a liner, it is the best way to go (plus it's just
off of the door step).
I've also created a "Backyard Bamboni" to resurface the ice. it's made of PVC pipe and a towel and hooks up to our
hot water tap. The size of the rink this year is 50' X 60'. We used a solid piece of silage cover. We also have
3-500 watt lights for play at night. As far as the boards are concerned we decided to go small and I'm glad we did
because of the snow shoveling.
Our two boys, Kent (9) and Bradley (6) and their mom Wanda just love to play so it makes all the work seem like fun.
(PS my Collie Dog, Chesley, has never stopped a puck like that dog on TV!) This is a great site. Thanks for doing this."
You are welcome Guy. What a great rink. Thanks for the pics.
