John writes: "This is the 8th year that we have made the rink. It started out being 20' x 40' and has grown (as have our two sons) to 38' x 76'. The challenge for us has been a sloping property. With the current size (photo), the right foreground corner of the rink has about 5" of water but the left background corner has 38" of water!! As you might expect that amount of water requires a considerable amount of bracing. We use one 50' x 100' sheet of plastic to cover the entire rink. It requires a couple of weekends getting everything erected but it is well worth it!" Very nice ice John. Thanks for the pic. |
