"After a successful 2002 season, the 2003 version was doubled in size to 48 x 50.  I managed to find a supplier of white agricultural plastic, and
along with an earlier installation date, lengthened the season by nearly
4-5 weeks (Dec 9 - Mar 2).  

Unfortunately, a mid-December thaw, followed by two 24 inch storms made for some 'down time' while I cleared and resurfaced.  Afterwards, consistent (and persistant) maintenance gave us some excellent skating.  

Ryan (6) and Renee (5) loved to go out and slide around with and without skates.  To help motivate and build skating confidence, I built a 'skate crutch' which all of the kids enjoyed using (and gave Mom a safe place to sit).  

Next year's additions will be additional lighting, and lengthening to 48 x 96."
