Jeff writes: "Hi Howard, This is the 3rd year for our rink, which this year grew a foot wider and a foot longer to 36’ x 56’. I became frustrated last year when my 8” boards couldn’t contain the puck so I built 16” boards this year out of 2x4’s and plywood. It was a tremendous improvement. The basic plan came from other members on this website so thanks to them! The two 500 watt lights from last year are still in place and allow plenty of nighttime skating and boot hockey. The backstops are 4’ high but still not high enough (next year!). The liner is on its second (and last) year. I had to do plenty of patching to get this one to hold water and still have a few small leaks on one end. Luckily they are up on the sides near the ice surface so it hasn’t been too much of a problem." Nice ice Jeff. Thanks for the pics. |
