20' x 50'

"Here are some pictures of my first attempt at a rink. I used a 20' x 50' white tarp. It was quite a learning experience because the first tarp I used was either not thick enough or it had a hole in it. So I purchased another one of better quality and it work well.
The sides were constructed of 2x8s leveled and staked. I used 2x2 and 2x4 fillers due to the slope of my yard(12" at one end and 6" at the other). I covered the exposed portion of the tarp with 1x6 boards which I painted white. I then fastened puck board corners and filled the rink.
We didn't get a good freeze until February, but it stayed very cold for the entire month which enabled my two boys and their friends to get some good use out of it. I flooded our rink using warm water and a resurfacing tool that I built from PVC pipe and plans I found on the Internet. Your website was extremely helpful in the construction of our rink. I thank you and everyone who provided their pictures and tips."
Really nice rink Ken. Especially for a first attempt. Great job.
