Lanny writes: "After developing a leak in my liner, I ended up draining what water was already in the rink, buying a white tarp and laying it out, and then laying another sheet of vapour barrier over the tarp. It's probably a bit of overkill but I was afraid if I just tried to patch the leak(s) that i may not get them all and still have problems losing water. Anyway, shortly after the last round of repairs we finally got a stretch of good cold weather and things have been great. The kids really enjoy being out on the rink - we've had our daughter Mckenna (3) out on skates for her first time (and second, third, etc) and our son Will (6) will stay out for hours. It is about 16 feet by 32 feet and that is about as big as I can get in this yard - there is a flower garden to the side so I can't get it any wider. There are three 2x6's on the sides, I used two 2x6's and a 2x10 at the end to give it a bit more height. Because of the slope of our yard there is about 15 inches of ice at the deep end, and only about 3 or 4 inches in the shallow end. I've included a couple pictures - you can see how the yard slopes by the line of the ice against the boards. Also one of Will in his Leafs jersey - I think I know your feelings on that by some of the comments I've seen on your site. Thanks again for your help, Glad that things worked out for you Lanny.
