"Just wanted to say thanks for a fun and informational site. I've consulted your helpful hints section dozens of times over the last 3 years. This year, thus far, has been my most successful with rink building. Although we've only skated 3 days (so far), it was definitely worth the effort. I heard others say there's nothing like skating under a clear sky with a full moon. Now I understand the joy that experience brings.

Here in lower West Michigan, we get a lot of snow at times, but temps fluctuate so much it makes it tough for good ice. Right now, it's about 47 degrees out, the snow is gone, and I have already lost the ice...but the forecast indicates a possible return to "normal" temps around Christmas Eve. The rink is 80' X 40', has a white tarp liner, 2' boards, and 12' tall netting around all but 16' of the perimeter. The rink has a halogen light mounted on a 12' 2x4 in each corner.

Thanks, again, for your efforts with this site!

p.s. That is my wife in the Shanahan jersey...she's got a wicked wrist shot!"

Really nice rink Roger. Thanks for the pics.
