24' x 40'

"It has been a great year for rink makers in southern Ontario
(specifically Mississauga). We've already had 6-7 weeks of actual
skating.
This is the rink I made for my two girls Kiana and Nicole who are 10 and
9 respectively. The rink measures 24' x 40' and is an excellent size for
their age. We actually had some of their hockey team over for an 'extra
practice' on the ice.
The board braces that I built were needed to hold back the 24" to 30" of
water at the south end of the rink (due to the slope of the backyard)
They worked very well. I increased the end boards to 4' this year. The
girls are starting to shoot for the top corners. The tree stumps are
used for the 'home team'. Hay bales are used for the 'away team'.
(Ignore the date on the pictures, I forgot to change the year)
Great site Howard!!!"
Nice rink Tom. Will keep an eye out for the girls on the National team someday.
