"Here's my pics for 2005 of Gavigan Square Garden. We had a warm
winter down here in New York, which made for very poor ice. Just when we started to get into the low
temps it would rise back up the next day. It was very frustrating to tell the kids they couldnt skate for
fear of slicing up the 6mil liner. I included a picture of the yard while we were attempting to make it more
level. The design & layout of the rink was done by a very talented friend of mine Pete Miley.
The rink measures 55 x 30 and has 4 ft end boards with rounded corners and 16 inch side boards. I added sports
netting behind the shooting end to keep the pucks in and flood lights are mounted on wooden posts. Corporate
logos decorate the boards as well as the 'Made in Canada' logo. We are ready for the 2005-2006 season now
that most of the construction is done. Thanks to all who sent in their tips on rink building, it was and
still is a learning process."
Very true Vinny. Thanks for the pics. |
